The interior of the Grand Cru wine bar and lounge.

In the world of wine, the term grand cru marks the vineyards of the highest classification, and that spirit is the theme of this space: the wine collection is the centre of attention. The bar counter is set against a backlit stone panel, glass cabinets in dark timber frames hold bottles from floor to ceiling, and a glass-walled cellar with a string of red pendant lights is the view from the entrance.

In the lounge, large timber-framed windows open onto the greenery outside. High-backed chairs in fuchsia, purple and cream are combined with patterned rugs, sofas and warm orange pendant lamps, so guests can settle in for a long time with the wine collection.

The documentation of this project was taken in February 2014.

  • The bar and a long stone-topped table with high chairs, where guests gather to taste.
  • A lounge with orange pendants and armchairs in mixed colours. Bold colour that still feels harmonious.
  • A fuchsia wing chair and a banana plant in a lounge corner.
  • The lounge with timber-framed windows and large pendants. Natural light is a design material for us too.
  • Glass cabinets in dark timber frames housing the wine collection: made so the collection is both seen and protected.

  • The Grand Cru entrance with its gold nameplate: the first impression before a guest steps in.

  • A lounge corner with cream sofas, a coffee table and patterned rug.
  • The lounge with a pink sofa and large windows onto greenery.
